House DS

We were asked to redesign the attic of a house. A space that was used throughout the day for multiple activities. During the day the space would be used for work, at other times for watching a movie, for playing with a band or for other hobbies. With a limited amount of daylight, we aimed at keeping the space open, whilst creating different zones within the space.
The central element, a large room divider, creates these different zones. The side where the staircase arrives offers plenty of room for storage and the central heating system, the doors and wall are covered in linen with ash wooden handles. The rhythm and materialization of the doors on the one side echo in the shelves on the other.
